Helicopter Spins Wildly into Palm Groves at Well-Known Southern California Coast

An aircraft hovering over a popular California coastline suddenly started spinning out of control, ultimately descending rapidly and smashing into a line of palm trees as beachgoers watched.

Footage shared online show the aircraft beginning to twirl near Huntington Beach then plunging towards the edge of the beach, where it gets stuck between palm trees and a steps close to the shoreline route.

Emergency Response Details

Local firefighters reported five individuals were taken to hospital involving two who were in the chopper and were “extracted safely from the crash site” following the crash on the weekend.

Three individuals on the street were hurt. Details on their injuries were not yet released.

What led to the incident was still under investigation.
