Prince William Set to Attend UN Climate Conference in Brazil

Prince William is scheduled to attend the United Nations climate conference in Brazil next month, as announced by royal officials.

The father and son duo appeared together on Thursday night at a event ahead of the climate summit, which is set to be held in the northern Brazilian city of Belém.

Father and son were in attendance at the museum gathering, marking an rare public appearance together at a environmental conference preliminary meeting co-hosted by the United Kingdom administration.

Environmental Advocacy Commitment

King Charles has been a consistent supporter of environmental conservation - and the Prince of Wales has taken on the baton, with his own environmental prize initiative, which will be held in Brazil ahead of the UN meeting.

Palace insiders have characterized the Prince's participation at the upcoming climate summit as stepping up an significant responsibility in "global climate discussions".

Previous Activities

The monarch and his heir, arriving together in the official car, were greeted guests including environmentalists, scientists, climate change campaigners, diplomats and politicians.

This engagement featured addresses in concert with President Emmanuel Macron of France and other global statesmen at the Marine Economy Conference in the Principality of Monaco during the current year.

The climate conference will coincide with the the royal's Earthshot environmental awards, which will wrap up in the Brazilian city the eve of he participates in the climate conference on the sixth of November.

Recently the royal figure referred to the Earthshot finalists as "heroes of our time".

Royal Climate Legacy

The monarch has been a prominent presence at previous climate summits, giving the opening address in the United Arab Emirates for the 28th Conference of Parties, including the statement: "We are custodians of the planet, not its owners".

"For decades I've committed a significant amount of my life trying to raise awareness about the existential threats confronting humanity over planetary heating, global temperature increases and species extinction," the King told participants.
